Collection: Sculptures - Bebek Tengil
The story of Bebek Tengil came from a jumble of memories — from my experience living next to a bunch of little ducks to a documentary I once saw about wild ducks. Tengil means “naughty” in Indonesian: boisterous, yet fun. It’s about resilience, the ability to innocently bounce back against all odds. Just like the journey of a duckling in the wild, who must leap from a high tree to begin finding food and follow in their mother’s footsteps. Some ducklings go through an epic fall — like those hatched on a cliff — tumbling too close to rough surfaces and bouncing from one corner to another. But once they land on the ground, they’ll happily quack, ready to continue their journey.
And that’s what Bebek Tengil is all about, living your best life.
